Even there is a city law that said if a person uses personal audio system heard up to 25 feet away, he might be issued a summon. However, the bikers say that they didn’t hear any complaints from passers-by. The residents here might think them are crazy, but the truth is there are still some guys consider this is cool. They ask the bikers to build one for their children.

Summary:

More than two dozen Broadway plays and musicals were set to go dark Saturday. More than two dozen Broadway shows will close as a result of a stagehand strike, for the work hour increase but the salary didn’t increase. The League and Local One have been in negotiations for more than three months, wrangling over work rules and staffing requirements. Although the union did not respond directly, the strike will not last a long time. Since there was a strike in March 2003, caused a huge lost. They will make a decision as soon as possible. However, off-Broadway shows will keep running as they are playing in theaters with separate Local One contracts. Eight Broadway shows will not be affected by the strike! The 3,000-member stagehands union contends it could find employment for many of its people in television or film if a work stoppage occurs.

Assignment 1

the News URL: http://literacynet.org/cnnsf/amcup/storyweek.html

Summary:
America's Cup is probably the only world-class sports event where a novice can get on deck. Usually, there are only16 people on the sailing boat. However, it has a special rule. It sets a guest spot for the 17th person standing behind the helmsman. A contest was held to see who could get the spot in the race. George Ellison heard about the contest on the radio. He tried many times, and then he got the chance.

My thoughts and reflections:
This article is talking about a novice can have a chance to join a world-class contest. The man, George Ellison, got the 17th seat. He will be able to meet and talk to the best sailors in the world. It’s fantastic. No other things can replace the value of this experience. It is so amazing that you can do something you like with the professional. You will absolutely learn a lot or, at least, you will get something new about that. Usually, I try to learn something, and it is very difficult to get the point. However, if an expert teaches you how to do it, it would be the fastest way to learn. This man was so lucky.

Self introduction

HELLO~I'm 李佳慧. KOBE is my nickname. You could call me 佳慧 or KOBE. I graduated from HGSH(Hsinchu Girls' Senior High). I am so lucky to be one of the students of English Department of NCU, and to know you guys. Nice to meet you~^^.

I love movies and traveling. I went to Japan tihis summer. I wish I can save enough money to go to Japan again. And, in the summer vacation of 2005, I went to London. I stayed in London for 21 days. There I lived with one of my classmates in a host family in the Zone 4 of London. During this trip, I learned a word which I would never forget─explode. I was so stunned that I would meet the event. The tube was closed, and the bus drivers were so nervous that if a box was put in the bus and no one touched it for 20 minutes, he would just pulled the bus off and cried out “Everybody Out!”

So, if anybody likes traveling, we can exchange ideas and experiences with each other. BYE~
